ACT! Link for QuickBooks® Alert

We are notifying you of an issue that relates to a .NET 2.0 security update Microsoft released a few days ago which affects ACT! Link for Use with QuickBooks customers integrating with ACT! 2005, ACT! 2006, and ACT! 2007.

After installing the Microsoft® .NET 2.0 security update, all existing contact links will appear to have been lost. The links are NOT lost but they can no longer be used correctly by the integration features because of the changes the .NET 2.0 security update made to Windows®.

Uninstalling the .NET 2.0 update will resolve this issue. Please read the knowledgebase article for instructions on how to uninstall this update.

ACT development is working on providing affected customers with an ACT! Link for use with QuickBooks update that will support the Microsoft .NET 2.0 security update.  Delivery of this update is anticipated on August 6, 2007.

Here’s how customers are affected and the available options:

  •  ACT! 2007 + QB Link 3.x: Customers are affected and will need to either install the free update to QB Link or opt not to install the Microsoft .NET 2.0 security update.

  • ACT! 2006 + QB Link 3.x: Customers are affected and will need to either upgrade to ACT! 2007 + install the free update to QB Link or opt not to install the Microsoft .NET 2.0 security update.

  • ACT! 2005 + QB Link 3.x: Customers are affected and will need to either upgrade to ACT! 2007 + install the free update to QB Link or opt not to install the Microsoft .NET 2.0 security update.

  • ACT! 6.x + QB Link 2.x: Customers are not affected.
